Quaidian Dramatic Club Won “Youth Drama Festival” at PNCA
Quaidian Dramatic Cub (QDC), Quaid i Azam University won “Youth Drama Festival 2016” held at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Islamabad. Seven best Youth Theatre Groups including Quaidian Dramatic Club, out of 40 institutions, were selected by judges for this prestigious competition after tough selection criteria.
Team QDC performed the play “Alif Iqbal” before jam-packed crowd at PNCA and got huge appreciation. Team QDC also featured in print as well as electronic media. QDC is promoting and harnessing the young exuberant talents of QAU students. An all-round excellent performance by our students helped QAU to win 8 nominations and 5 awards that are following;
Best Actor Male Lead Role: Muhammad Ali Farooqi
Best Actress Female Lead Role: Mariah Zainab
Best Playwright: Saad Sultan Goraya
Best Direction: Muhammad Ali Farooqi
Best Production (Play): 1st Position Quaidian Dramatic Club, QAU.
Moreover Muhammad Essa, Abrar Bazmi and Sidra Insar were nominated for the Best Male Side Role, Best Character and Best Female Side Role respectively. On this tremendous achievement, the Vice Chancellor Dr. Javed Ashraf congratulated team QDC.
