QAU Explores Green & Smart Campus Mobility Pilot Program
Ms. Xia Bing, Chief Executive Officer of PCKX Trading and Contracting (Pvt.) Ltd., accompanied by the General Manager and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company, called on Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Vice Chancellor, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.
The meeting was a follow-up discussion on the proposed “Green & Smart Campus Mobility Pilot Program.” The initiative aims to transform Quaid-i-Azam University into a model green and smart campus in Pakistan by providing students with a safe, affordable, environmentally friendly transportation system within the campus.
During the pilot phase, the company proposed deploying 300 to 500 smart bikes across the University. The pilot project will assess bike usage, booking, parking management, and safety to evaluate the feasibility of a full-scale implementation.
Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal appreciated the proposed initiative and emphasized the University’s commitment to promoting sustainable and innovative solutions that enhance the campus experience.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Tasawar Hayat, Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq Ali, Director, Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) and Chairperson, Department of Microbiology, along with members of the ORIC team.
