Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Girl Guides Association (PGGA) to establish a collaborative partnership aimed at promoting community service, leadership development, and social awareness among university students.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Vice Chancellor, Quaid-i-Azam University; Mrs. Maria Maud Sabri, National Commissioner, Pakistan Girl Guides Association; and Dr. Sadia Saeed, Chairperson, School of Sociology, QAU.

The agreement outlines a framework for cooperation under PGGA’s “Project Stay Safe”, through which both institutions will jointly undertake initiatives to empower young women. Under the partnership, groups of female students from Quaid-i-Azam University will be identified to fulfill the community service component of their academic programs through PGGA. The students will receive specialized training in four key social service campaigns including Assuring Personal Safety, Preventing Substance Abuse, Online Security, Emotional Well-Being.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of empowering students through community service and leadership opportunities. He also announced the formation of a Guide Club at Quaid-i-Azam University to further strengthen student participation in volunteerism and social development activities.
