Scientific Poster Competition Organized by Biochemists Association QAU (BAQI)

A large number of MSc and Mphil students from Faculty of Biological Sciences participated in a Scientific Poster Competition organized by Biochemists Association QAU (BAQI) at Department of Biochemistry, Quaid-i-Azam University. The objective of the event was to promote understanding of scientific writing and develop skills to communicate research among students. The posters were judged by a panel of faculty members, Dean Biological Sciences and Chairperson of the Department of Biochemistry.

QAU Vice Chancellor, Dr. Eatzaz Ahmed also visited the display hall where students briefed him about their scientific posters. While addressing the prize distribution ceremony Dr. Eatzaz Ahmed appreciated the organizers for initiating the competition of Scientific Poster for students. He said that university will evolve a comprehensive mechanism for sustainable financial support to promote student activities in departments. He urged the students to use their energy and creativity in a positive direction and contribute in diverse student activities organized by BAQI. Later on newly elected office bearers of the BAQI took oath. Association of Biochemists comprising the current students, alumni and teachers of the University was established with an aim to develop and promote scientific among students.

At the end of the event, QAU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Eatzaz Ahmed, Dean Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. Asghari Bano and Chairperson of the Department of Biochemistry Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza distributed prizes and souvenirs to the participants.
