Photographic exhibition on Quaid’s life
The History Department of Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) in Collaboration with the National Archives of Pakistan organized a two-day exhibition of paintings, photographs of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah her on Wednesday. The activity was in connection with Quaid-i-Azam Day (December 25) celebrations.
Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Vice Chancellor, QAU formally inaugurated the exhibition. More than 250 rare photographs and historical documents relating to founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his companions were displaced.
The Photographs of Quaid-i-Azam including his presidential address in the famous Lahore session and meetings with Muslim League Leaders and workers of different provinces were displaced. Quid’s pictures with his sister Miss Fatima Jinnah, wife Ratti Jinnah, and daughter Dina Jinnah were also displayed.
While addressing the inaugural ceremony Vice-Chancellor said that every photograph on display tells a story not only about Quid’s life but also about the great freedom struggle of our leaders to get separate homeland for Muslims.
“It’s a great opportunity for students especially the students of History to feel real moments captured in photographs, these are the windows to the past which shows how our great leaders went through the freedom struggle” he added.
He thanked the National Archives of Pakistan and praised the efforts of History Department for organizing such a wonderful exhibition. Ali Agha Noori, Cultural Counselor of Islamic Republic of Iran, a large number of students and faculty members attended the exhibition. The exhibition will remain on display at the History Department till 23 December from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
