The ceremony was attended by Deans, Chairpersons of academic departments, senior faculty members, and distinguished alumni.

The Alumni Secretariat has been established with the generous sponsorship and support of the University’s senior alumnus, Mr. Almass Ayoub Sabir, reflecting the enduring bond of QAU alumni with their alma mater and their commitment to its continued growth and advancement.

On the occasion, Mr. Almass Ayoub Sabir announced the establishment of a Student Support Fund, with an initial contribution of Rs. 1 million, to provide financial assistance to deserving, Zakat-eligible, and underprivileged students. He also pledged support for the computerisation of the University’s degree records, an initiative aimed at facilitating alumni services and improving institutional efficiency.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor appreciated these generous contributions and commended the dedicated efforts of the QAU Alumni Relations and Advancement Committee in establishing the Alumni Secretariat. He particularly acknowledged the contributions of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Idrees of the School of Economics; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq Ali, Chairperson, Department of Microbiology and Director ORIC; and Raja Qaiser Ahmed, Director, Area Study Centre, for their commitment and leadership in bringing the initiative to fruition.

The Vice Chancellor said the Alumni Secretariat would serve as a central platform for reconnecting and engaging QAU’s alumni community and fostering collaboration across academic, professional, research, and institutional development initiatives. He added that the Secretariat would create meaningful avenues for alumni to contribute their expertise, networks, and resources to the University’s continued growth and pursuit of academic excellence.

The establishment of the Alumni Secretariat marks a significant step towards building a more connected and engaged QAU alumni community and institutionalising alumni participation in the University’s future development.
