QAU Department of Pharmacy Seminar Explores Career Horizons Beyond Traditional Roles

The Department of Pharmacy at Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) successfully organized a career counseling
seminar titled “Beyond the Degree: Exploring Career Pathways for Pharmacy Graduates”.

Organized by Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmed and Dr. Humaira Fatima, the event aimed to inspire students to explore leadership, media, and public service opportunities.

The seminar featured three distinguished resource persons who provided valuable insights into non-traditional career paths. Mr. Muhammad Usman Javed, Deputy Director and Head of Publication & Media Cell at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU) spoke on the necessity of LinkedIn for networking and the importance of versatile skills for remote work. Ms. Ayesha Badar, a PMS Officer and Deputy Director, shared her inspirational transition from a pharmacy student to a high-ranking civil servant. Mr. Shifa Khan Bangash, Vice President of Pakistan Pharmacists Association (PPA) Center, discussed the practical and emerging administrative fields within pharmacy practice.

A highlight of the event was the highly interactive session where the students actively asked questions, and the resource persons addressed their queries regarding future pathways and professional growth. The event reached its conclusion with insightful closing remarks from the Chairman Department of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Toufeeq Ur-Rehman, who expressed his gratitude to the resource persons for broadening the students’ career perspectives. To honor their participation, commemorative shields were presented to the guests by the department leadership and e-certificates were distributed among the attendees.
