International Conference on “Recent Advancement in Pharmaceutical Research and Drug Delivery”

3rd International Conference on “Recent Advancement in Pharmaceutical Research and Drug Delivery” hosted by Department of Pharmacy, Quaid-i-Azam University on Feb 19-20, 2019 was inaugurated by Mr Faiz Ullah Kamoka, Member National Assembly and Chairman Standing Committee for Finance, Revenue & Economic Division as Chief Guest along with the Vice Chancellor Quaid-i-Azam University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali as guest of honor.

The objectives of the conference was to provide a great platform to the leading International and national researchers from various areas of pharmacy to exchange their ideas and to solve the doubts and queries among the participants in the field of medicine, drug delivery, nanotechnology, industry and drug regulation affairs.

Addressing to the inaugural ceremony, Vice chancellor Quaid-i-Azam University said that importance of the pharmaceutical sciences cannot be neglected in achieving the health care goals in particular reference to the advanced disease conditions. He said the field of pharmaceutical sciences is growing day by day and its advancement is marking high impact in the fields of drug delivery and medical sciences.

“Quaid-i-Azam University has always promoted innovative and outcome-driven conferences, workshops and seminars. This institute is the flagship institute of Pakistan for promoting research, innovation and quality education” added the Vice Chancellor.

Chief Guest of the event Mr. Faiz Ullah Kamoka, in his address disclosed that “With an ageing population, the burden on healthcare system is projected to increase sharply in the upcoming years. Nevertheless, the Government’s initiatives in developing primary care and re-allocating resources between public and private healthcare is part of an answer to the phenomena.

“We see from the last two Policy Addresses the Government’s stance to strengthen and make better use of the pharmacist manpower to promote optimization of drug use and reduce drug wastage” said the Minister.

Earlier the Dean Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahab, Chairman Department of Pharmacy Prof. Dr Gul Mjaid Khan and Dr Fakhar ud Din, Focal Person of the Conference also addressed the ceremony. Speakers from Pakistan and various internationally renowned counterparts will go a long way in knowledge sharing through conference to help our pharmaceutical industry to grow and to compete globally
