Filza is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the Human Genetics Lab at the Department of Zoology, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad. Through the scholarship, she had the incredible opportunity to conduct research at Brunel University London, ranked 38th in the UK and 342nd in the QS World University Rankings.

Her research focused on gene expression related to progeria disease, utilizing cell line models and advanced techniques such as:

Recombinant DNA technology (Cloning)
Gene knockdown (qPCR, Western blot analysis)
Flow Cytometry, Live cell imaging, Immunofluorescence
Pool down assays, Mass spectrometry, Chromatin Immunoprecipitation
This research aims to enhance understanding of the etiology of progeria by studying the role of specific genes at the cellular level. Her work is contributing to groundbreaking genetic research with potential therapeutic implications for progeria and related genetic conditions.
