Admissions Notice for (Undergraduate) BS/ LLB/ PHARM-D Programme on Regular/ Self Finance Basis (Fall Semester–2024)

Applications are invited from Pakistani and Foreign Nationals for admission to (Undergraduate) BS/BA-LLB/PHARM-D Programme (Fall Semester-2024) in the following subjects by 29-07-2024 (Last Date Extended). A person may apply for admission holding HSSC complete passed result/Part-I passed result in BS/BA-LLB Programme and HSSC complete passed result in Pharm-D programme. Last date for submission of Pharm-D form is 23-09-2024.

LAW Admission Test (LAT) For LLB Programme

  1. Applicants seeking admission in BA-LLB are advised to register themselves with HEC for Law Admission Test (LAT). The details are available at www.hec.gov.pk.
  2. Applicant(s) must pass Law Admission Test (LAT) as conducted by the HEC. LAT is only for short- listing and its score shall not be counted to determine the merit.
  3. Admissions shall be made on the basis of cumulative merit to be determined from previous academic record. Only LAT passed candidates will be considered for admission.

How To Apply

  1. The applicants can apply through Online Application System at QAU website (qau.edu.pk). The candidates will print the application processing fee invoice/challan from QAU website/Admission portal and will deposit fee/dues in favour of the Treasurer, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.
  2. Paid Bank Challan/deposit slip/Proof of online payment for Admission Processing Charges must be uploaded with the Online Application along with other scanned requisite documents; otherwise the application will not be entertained.

General Information

  1. A person may apply for admission to BS/BA-LLB program holding HSSC complete passed result/ Part-I passed result. Complete HSSC passed result is mandatory for Pharm-D Program from a Pakistani Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education or an equivalent from any other recognized Board with at least (50% marks and HSSC complete passed result with minimum 60% marks for Pharm-D Program or its equivalent grade shall be eligible for provisional admission to the undergraduate Programs of study. Students of A-Level are also eligible to apply with result awaiting option after uploading A-Level’s result within due date of left over documents their merit will be calculated according to IBCC formula by the University and they will have to submit IBCC equivalence certificate within 45 days after declaration of result.
  2.  After selection the student will deposit the fee/dues online/manual in the University Account within the stipulated period/time.
  3. In case of admission on FA/FSc part-I basis after selection and depositing fee/dues in the University Account, the student will be required to pass the HSSC Examination (as a whole) with at least 50% marks for BS/BA- LLB. In case of less than 50% marks in HSSC, his/her admission will be treated as cancelled.
  4. After selection and depositing fee/dues in the University Account, if the student of BS/BA-LLB declared as FAILED in the HSSC Examination by the concerned Board, his/her admission will be treated as cancelled and the Fee/Dues deposited by him/her will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  5. After selection and depositing fee/dues in the University Account, the student will be required to submit his/her complete HSSC passed result card/DMC/IBCC equivalence certificate within 45 days after the declaration of HSSC result by the concerned Board/Authority in the Department/ Institute/ School/Centre (DISC). If the selected student failed to submit the required certificate his/her admission will be treated as cancelled. Chairperson of (DISC) will ensure that either student has submitted his/her complete result within due course of time otherwise he/she will initiate the case for the cancellation of admission.
  6. There is no age limit for admission in BS/ BA-LLB/Pharm.D program at QAU.
  7. The result awaiting students will have to submit an undertaking as per prescribed format with his/her admission form by filling all the columns available at QAU website.

Ineligibility

The following shall not be eligible for admission to BS/ BA-LLB/Pharm-D Programs of study: –

  1. Those who have failed under the examination rules of this University. (Please see QAU Calendar at  QAU website
  2. Those who have ceased to be a student of this University under the examinations rules. (Please see QAU Calendar at QAU website
  3. Those who already possess BS/BA-LLB/Pharm-D or its equivalent degree from this or any other University.
  4. Those who are already on the rolls of this University.
  5. Those who have been expelled from the University on disciplinary grounds.
  6. In case of incorrect/misleading information or concealment of facts on production of fake/forged/bogus/tempered documents, the University reserves the right to refuse/cancel the admission and expel the applicant (student) from the University at any time.
  7. The Vice-Chancellor has right to cancel/refuse admission without assigning any reason.

Equivalence certificates and conversion of Grades into Marks

Applicants having foreign certificates are required to provide equivalence certificates and conversion of the grades, into marks from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) for Matriculation and Intermediate levels.

Subject Options

  1. An applicant can opt for a maximum of three choices of subjects on Regular (R) OR on Self Finance (S) and/or on both basis in the same subjects: 3 (R) + 3 (S) =6.
  2. The candidates selected on his/her choices will not be appeared in the subsequent list; those who selected and deposited the fee/dues on self-finance will have intact choices for regular only.
  3. Those who have deposited the fee/dues against regular seats/subject options, then the other choices will be blocked/exhausted.
  4. Change of subject options during admissions process will be made with the approval of Chairman Admissions Committee.

Admissions on Regular (Regional Quota) And Self-Finance Basis

  1. Admissions on Regular basis (Normal Fee) shall be granted strictly on merit subject to provincial/regional quota.
  2. A limited number of seats shall be filled on self-finance basis in all the above-mentioned subjects only on merit irrespective of provincial/regional quota.
  3. Merit will be calculated at 30:70 ratio i.e. 30% weightage to the Matriculation marks and 70% weightage to the HSSC marks without giving any credit to the score (s) in Entry Test.

Reserved Seats

The quota of reserved seats is prescribed with terms/conditions and the seats will be filled on merit.

  1. Only those candidates will be selected for admission to BS Programs who fulfill the eligibility criteria of the respective Department and also on the basis of providing requisite documents.
  2. The candidates already selected on his/her first priority on open merit (regular basis) in the merit list, will not be considered for admission on the reserved seats. However, if he/she selected on his/her lower priority and have not deposited the fee/dues within the stipulated time, he/she will have to report to the Admission Section for consideration of his/her case on the reserved seat.
  3. If a candidate does not fulfill the prescribed terms/conditions, and also fails to produce requisite documents he/she will not be considered for admission against the reserved seat.
  4. If any seat reserved for special quotas remains vacant, it will be filled through Self- Finance Basis.
  5. All admissions will be made on the recommendations of the Admission Committee.

Important Instructions

  1. If number of applicants for a department/discipline is less than 25 then the department will not be allowed to commence the classes and the Admission Processing Fee @ Rs.2200/- or Rs. 2215/- respectively will be refunded to the applicants admitted thereon accordingly.
  2. To avoid any inconvenience the candidates are required to upload all the required documents with Online Admission within stipulated time period. However, the last date to upload left-over documents such as Equivalence Certificate of IBCC, Domicile etc. along with online submission of required fee amounting to Rs.1000/- is    01-08-2024;
  3. Data of the applicants shall be available on the University website. Please contact on Ph No.051-90642301, 051-90642302 and 051-90642008 to rectify the errors/mistakes in the data, if any by  02-08-2024 at the latest.
  4. No application will be received in Admission Section by hand or by Post/Courier. After expiry of last date no online application facility will be available in any case.
  5. No call letter/phone call shall be made separately for selection; applicants are advised to visit QAU website frequently.
  6. In case of cancellation of admission, the fee/dues will be refunded to the candidates as per QAU refund policy.
