Webinar on Confidence Building Measures
A webinar “Science, Diplomacy and Confidence Building Measures” jointly organized by School of Politics & IR and CRDF Global was held recently. Speakers included Michael Krepon and Dr. Zulfiqar Khan.
Micheal Krepon is the co-founder of the Stimson Center and worked previously at the Carnegie Endowment. His areas of expertise are reducing nuclear dangers with a regional specialization in South Asia and improving national and international security in outer space. Dr. Zulfiqar Khan is the Chairman Department of Defence & Strategic Studies, National Defence University Islamabad. His areas of expertise are Nuclear Weapons, Security, Strategic and Non Proliferation Issues.
Krepon discussed of the role and impact of different confidence building measure, drawing on historical examples from the USSR, cross-strait relations, and elsewhere whereas Dr. Zulfiqar Khan made a brief analysis of the Nuclear Security Confidence Building Measures (CBMs): INDIA-PAKISTAN.
Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Director, School of Politics & IR chaired and supervised the webinar. This webinar was the part of the series of Webinars held by SPIR and CRDF Global. Webinar was attended by PhD Scholars, M Phil students of School of Politics & IR and PhD scholars from National Defence University Islamabad.
