U.S. HISTORY in the First Person: The Asian-American Experience

Ms. Angela Allen a Consular-coned Foreign Service Officer currently assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan was guest speaker to the students of department of History. Previously, Ms. Angela served as Staff Assistant to the Ambassador and Vice Consul from 2011-2013 at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. In her earlier Foreign Service life, Angela held the positions of Regional Security Office Management Specialist at Consulate General Dubai from 2006-2008 and Legal Affairs Assistant at the U.S. Mission to the UN and International Organizations from 2008-2010.

While speaking to students Ms. Angela gave a presentation on “U.S. HISTORY in the First Person: The Asian-American Experience” which was her own life account and narrating her experience of U.S. life and exposure as Asian-American experience. The talk was attended by number of students and staff members.

Ms. Judith Ravin, Deputy Cultural Attaché, U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan briefed and encouraged students to apply for various fellowships, scholarships and exchange programs managed by U.S. Embassy and State Department for Pakistan to have a living experience of U.S. for their future endeavors and accomplishments.

Chairperson History department, Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana applauded the initiative of U.S. Embassy to send their representatives to Quaid-i-Azam University for having a live conversation with students to give them the practical side of the history as discipline.
