Federal Minister for Education Sardar Asif formally inaugurated the CMS

CMS is aimed at providing students, faculty, and staff with immediate access to real-time information and connects that information to specific action. CMS is logically divided into several modules each of which maps to a university function/department.

Higher Education Commission selected six public sector universities for the implementation of Oracle People Soft campus Solutions and Quaid-i-Azam University is one of those universities that has introduced CMS that is based on this kind of campus solution.

Addressing the audience comprising faculty members, Minister appreciated the CMS team and said that they have done excellent work in a difficult area. He said as a nation we have to keep working towards excellence and try to improve our ranking. He said being a Minister he has adopted an approach not to interfere in affairs of Higher Education Commission (HEC) to ensure is autonomy and independence, adding, he would continue to support HEC with enable it achieve its goals.

Vice Chancellor of QAU Dr. Masoom Yasinzai while lauding the efforts of the CMS project team said Campus Management Solution would provide the ability to streamline processes, Reduce manual handling and Consolidate information into one Database. He said the project would help improve transparency, compliance and efficiencies by effectively managing funding and student accounts.

He said due to the new vision of the HEC the entire landscape of the universities has been changed and Quaid-i-Azam University is not exception to that. He said they request the government to support HEC so that it continues to support universities, particularly those operating in public sector, who are not generating their revenue through fees.

While sharing the future plans Vice Chancellor said that a school of economics would be established to start BS classes and diploma for executives besides launching of a business school for BBA and MBA executive classes.

HEC Executive Director Dr. Sohail Naqvi said that Campus Management Solution would provide the administrative and financial information back to the university students as well as the faculty members.

He said Quaid-i-Azam University is a premier research institute and was ranked first across the country and it enjoys an excellent reputation as it has also bracketed among top five hundred universities of the world.

Earlier, while briefing the audience about CMS Project Director Dr. Abdul Hameed Toor said,

successful launch of CMS at Quaid-i-Azam University is a result of constant efforts made by CMS team in collaboration with HEC and Techlogix.
