Admissions Notice for (Undergraduate) BS/ LLB/ PHARM-D (Morning) Programme on Regular/ Self Finance Basis (Fall Semester–2023)

Applications are invited from Pakistani and Foreign Nationals for admission to (Undergraduate) Regular/Self Finance BS and LLB Programme (Fall Semester-2023) in the following subjects by 07-08-2023 (Last Date Extended). Applications are also invited from Pakistani and Foreign Nationals for admission in Regular/Self Finance PHARM-D Programme (Fall Semester-2023) by 20-09-2023. A person may apply for admission holding HSSC Part-I passed result in BS/LLB Programme and HSSC complete passed result in Pharm-D programme with at least 60% marks.

LAW Admission Test (LAT) For LLB Programme

  1. Applicants seeking admission in LLB are advised to register themselves with HEC for Law Admission Test (LAT). The details are available at www.hec.gov.pk. Online registration can be done at http://www.hec.gov.pk/english/ HEC Announcements / Pages/LAT-2023.aspx.
  2. Applicant(s) must pass Law Admission Test (LAT) as conducted by the HEC. LAT is only for short-listing and its score shall  not be counted to determine the merit.
  3. Admissions shall be made on the basis of cumulative merit to be determined from previous academic record. Only LAT passed candidates will be considered for admission.

How To Apply

  1. The applicants can apply through Online Application System from the QAU website (qau.edu.pk). The candidates will print the application processing fee invoice/challan of the Habib Bank Ltd. @ Rs.2215/-  OR Askari Bank Ltd. Rs.2200/- respectively and deposit in any branch of Habib Bank Ltd. OR Askari Bank Ltd. in favour of the Treasurer, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.
  2. The Bank Challan/Invoice must be uploaded with the Online Application along with other scanned requisite documents, otherwise the application will not be entertained.

General Information

A person passed HSSC (Intermediate) Part-I examination for BS/LLB programme and HSSC complete passed result for Pharm-D programme with at least 60 % marks from a Pakistani Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education or an equivalent from any other recognized Board with at least (50% marks or its equivalent grade shall be eligible for provisional admission to the BS and LLB Programmes of study subject to the conditions that: –

  1. After selection the student will deposit the fee/dues online in the University Account within the stipulated period/time.
  2. After selection and online depositing fee/dues in the University Account, the student will be required to pass the HSSC Examination (as a whole) with at least 50% marks for BS and LLB Programme. In case of less than 50% marks in HSSC, his/her admission will be treated as cancelled.
  3. (For BS, LLB) After selection and online depositing fee/dues in the University Account, if the student declared as FAILED in the HSSC Examination by the concerned Board, the Fee/Dues as deposited by him/her will not be refunded under any circumstances except refundable securities.
  4. (For BS, LLB) After selection and online depositing fee/dues in the University Account, the student will be required to submit his/her HSSC passed result card within stipulated period in the concerned Department/ Institute/ School/Centre. If the selected student failed to submit the required certificate his/her admission will be treated as cancelled.
  5. The result awaiting student will have to submit an Undertaking as prescribed by QAU.

Ineligibility

The following shall not be eligible for admission to BS/LLB/Pharm-D programmes of study: –

  1. Those who have failed under the examination rules of this University.
  2. Those who have ceased to be a student of this University under the examinations rules. (Please see in Prospectus at QAU website www.qau.edu.pk)
  3. Those who already possess BS/LLB/Pharm-D or its equivalent degree from this or any other University.
  4. Those who are already on the rolls of this University.
  5. Those who have been expelled from the University on disciplinary grounds.
  6. No student of BS or equivalent degree holder shall be admitted to a second or subsequent BS/LLB/Pharm-D Programme (either on Regular OR Self-Finance basis) in the University Teaching Departments/ Centers/ Institutes/ School under any circumstances.
  7. The admission shall be cancelled on the written request of the student concerned as per approved rules duly recommended by the respective Chairman/Director and the Dean of the Faculty concerned.
  8. In case of incorrect/misleading information or concealment of facts, the University reserves the right to refuse/cancel the admission and expel the applicant (student) from the University at any time.
  9. The Vice-Chancellor may cancel/refuse admission to any student without assigning reasons.
  10. The students whose names were dropped or struck off from the rolls of QAU or any University Teaching Department/ Center/Institute due to shortage of lectures or non-payment of dues or poor performance or non-appearance in examination etc., in the semester, shall not be granted admission. The Syndicate may consider such cases on the recommendations of the University Admission Committee.
  11. The students dropped or struck off from the rolls of any University Teaching Department/ Center/Institute due to poor performance under semester system shall not be granted re-admission in any case in the same Discipline.
  12. Any student, who was rusticated, expelled, or whose entry in QAU or any University Campus was banned for any reason whatsoever at any time during his/her academic career, shall not be admitted to any class without the permission of the Syndicate. The Syndicate may not consider such cases except on the recommendations of the Admission Committee.

Equivalence certificates and conversion of Grades into Marks

Applicants having foreign certificates are required to provide equivalence certificates and conversion of the grades, into marks from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) for Matriculation and Intermediate levels.

Subject Options

  1. The applicants are advised to fill/opt the subjects carefully because once filled, the Subject Options shall not be changed in any case. An applicant can opt for a maximum of three choices of subjects on Regular (R) OR on Self Finance (S) and/or on both basis in the same subjects: 3 (R) + 3 (S) =6.
  2. The candidates selected on his/her choices will not be appeared in the subsequent list; those who selected and deposited the fee/dues on self-finance will have intact choices for regular only.
  3. Those who have deposited the fee/dues against regular seats/subject options, then the other choices will be blocked/exhausted.

Admissions on Regular (Regional Quota) And Self-Finance Basis

  1. Admissions on Regular basis (Normal Fee) shall be granted strictly on merit subject to provincial/regional quota.
  2. A limited number of seats shall be filled on self-finance basis in all the above-mentioned subjects only on merit irrespective of provincial/regional quota.
  3. Merit will be calculated at 30:70 ratio i.e. 30% weightage to the Matriculation marks and 70% weightage to the HSSC marks without giving any credit to the score (s) in Entry Test.

Reserved Seats

The quota of reserved seats is prescribed with terms/conditions and the seats will be filled on merit.

  1. Only those candidates will be selected for admission to BS, LLB and Pharm-D programmes who fulfilled the eligibility criteria of the respective Department and also on the basis of providing requisite documents.
  2. The candidates already selected on his/her first priority on open merit (regular basis) in the merit list, will not be considered for admission on the reserved seats. However, if he/she selected on his/her lower priority and have not deposited the fee/dues within the stipulated time, he/she will have to report to the Admission Section for consideration of his/her case on the reserved seat.
  3. If a candidate does not fulfill the prescribed terms/conditions, and also fails to produce requisite documents he/she will not be considered for admission against the reserved seat.
  4. All admissions will be made on the recommendations of the Admission Committee.

5. Foreign Students (i) Foreign Nationals and Dual Nationals (having Pakistani and some other Nationality);
(ii) Refugees (status recognized by Govt. of Pakistan). These seats will be filled as per other conditions as approved by the University Statutory Bodies.
10% seats are on self-finance basis
6. Children of Advocates Subject to provision of Letter of Registration from District Bar Association duly verified by the President concerned. (For the Children of Advocates on Reserved Seats in LLB program only) 5% seats for the children of Advocates who shall compete admission in order of merit inter se.
7. Children of Registered Pharmacists Subject to production of Letter of registration from Pharmacy Council of Pakistan duly verified by the Chairman concerned. Upto 5% seats of the total annual admission in the First Professional in  Pharm-D (normal fee)
8. Children of the Proprietors, Partners and Directors of Pharmaceutical Industry (i) Subject to Production of proof from Health Department/Drug Regularity Authority of Pakistan duly verified by the Chairman concerned.
(ii) Donation in shape of cash/equipment/chemical worth at least Rs.100,000/-
Upto 2% seats of (un-availed seats) on (self -finance) basis in Pharm-D

Hostel Accommodation

The University Hostel accommodations will be provided subject to availability of seats.

The University is providing Scholarships/Financial Assistance to the deserving Pakistani National students seeking admission at (Undergraduate) BS/LLB programmes of the University in collaboration with the following agencies: –

The scholarship Committee comprised of Senior Professors/Deans will determine & recommend the name of needy students for award of Scholarships/Tuition fee waiver.
12. Special Scholarships (Fee Waiver) for Topper students (Priority will be given to Female student(s) from Under Developed Areas:-In Fall Semester 2023, 100% tuition fee is waived off for HSSC Topper Students belong to underdeveloped areas of Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Sindh (R), the merged FATA regions in KPK and regions of Southern Punjab for Under graduation BS (Morning) programme.

Single orphan/double orphan & students who belong to far flung/deprived areas will receive special consideration for award of scholarship/financial assistance.
