World Water Day 2025: A Resounding Success!
The Department of Microbiology, QAU, in collaboration with ORIC QAU, successfully celebrated World Water Day 2025 under the theme Glacier Preservation: Protecting Our Frozen Reservoirs.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a warm welcome from Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq Ali Chairman, Microbiology & Director ORIC QAU, who emphasized the urgent need for water conservation and glacier preservation. The keynote speaker, Ms. Farzana Altaf Shah (DG, EPA) and Prof. Dr. Sohail Yousaf, delivered insightful talks on climate change, water management, and ecosystem sustainability, they focused on the importance of the glacier for water conservation and urged all to play effective role.
A poster competition featuring large participants showcased brilliant research, with the top 4 postersrecognized for excellence. Students and faculty, including Prof. Dr. Mushtaq, Prof. Dr. Asif Jamal, Prof. Dr. Fariha Hasan, Dr. Naima Atiq, Dr. Sami Ullah, and Dr. Malik Badshah, Prof. Dr Mazhar Iqbal also shared valuable perspectives.
