“National Workshop on Nanomedicine; Advancements and Challenges in Pakistan” Inaugurates
A Three-day workshop on “Nanomedicine; Advancements and Challenges in Pakistan” was inaugurated here at Department of Pharmacy, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU). The objective of the workshop was to provide platform to the leading national researchers from various areas of nanomedicine for exchanging the new ideas, latest research in the field of medicine, nanotechnology, industry and drug regulation affairs.
While addressing the inaugural ceremony Dr. Javed Ashraf, Vice Chancellor, QAU lauded the efforts of the organizers and said that importance of the nanomedicine cannot be neglected in achieving the health care goals. He said that Faculty of Biological Sciences QAU has contributed enormously in producing quality research and has its important role in university top ranking.
Earlier Prof. Dr. GuL Majid Khan, Chairperson Department of Pharmacy and chief organizer of the workshop welcomed the guests. He said that relevance and scientific significance of the workshop is quite important from the existing national needs in the promotion of nanomedicine research and its implication on national level to address the pharma needs in developing advanced level nanomedicine. He said that it is the need of the day to develop an interlinkage between the Pharma industry, academia and research to develop nanomedicine to promote health benefits.
Dr. Muhammad Ayub, Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Shahab Dean Faculty of Biological Sciences and Dr. Fakhar- ud -Din, Assistant Professor Department of Pharmacy, QAU, and focal person of the workshop also addressed the ceremony. The invited speakers and researchers from academia professionals from pharmaceutical industry and representatives from drug regulation authority of Pakistan would enlighten the students and participants. The workshop would conclude on November 30, 2017.
