Dr. Syed Sikandr Azam, Department of Bioinformatics, got a method patent under copyright with Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO – Pakistan).
The Indigenously developed method AFD profoundly represents the distribution and density of a ligand atom around a particular atom or set of atoms of protein. It enables to observe and have insights into local movements and rotations that were not observed through other traditional structural and dynamical parameters. It can be used for biological complex models to observe 3D orientation of interacting bonded atoms, which depict the crucial nature of motion of molecules reflecting their different level of functions. This method can be used on bio-molecular simulation trajectories around the globe.
