Department of Plant Sciences, QAU, Organized Awareness Walk on World Soil Day

Soil is the birth place for each of the living organism. Peter Maurin says, “It is impossible to have a healthy and sound society without a proper respect for the soil”. Similarly, according to Dr. Daniel Hillel, the Latin name for man, homo, derived from humus, the stuff of life in the soil.

In this connection Department of Plant Sciences Quid-i-Azam University also arranged an awareness walk. Students of Ecology and conservation lab under the supervision of Dr Shujaul Mulk Khan also prepared various models and posters showing healthy farming practices which could help in controlling erosion as well as pollution of soil. Shields and certificate were distributed among the students and organizers of the event. The activity was also registered with the activities of FAO.
