Congratulations : Dr. Imrana Ashraf has been selected as the 2026 recipient of Optica’s Esther Hoffman Beller Medal

Dr. Imrana Ashraf, former faculty member of the Department of Physics, Quaid-i-Azam University is being honored for her exceptional dedication to optics education at her university and for her impactful outreach initiatives aimed at students from economically developing countries, as well as for the organization of numerous educational and outreach events in rural areas of Pakistan.

This medal, established in 1993 through a bequest from the estate of Esther Hoffman Beller, is presented for outstanding contributions to education in optical science and engineering. Consideration is given to outstanding teaching and/or original work in optics education that enhances the understanding of optics. By receiving this prestigious international award, she joins a distinguished group of global educators who have made remarkable contributions to the field.
