Quaidian Dramatic Club Won “Film & Drama Festival” at NUML

Quaidian Dramatic Club, Quaid-i-Azam University won “Film & Drama Festival” held at National University of Modern Languages (NUML). A total 16 teams participated in the competition. Team QDC performed a new play, “Nang”, before jam-packed crowd at NUML and got huge appreciation. Team QDC also featured in print as well as electronic media. It is QDC’s first appearance in any competition this semester; QDC continued its journey of success with the same zeal. An all-round excellent performance by students helped QAU to win 8 nominations and 5 awards that are following;

Best Actress Female Lead Role: Mariah Zainab (Department of Electronics)
Best Script: Nang by Muhammad Ali Farooqi (Department of History)
Best Direction: Muhammad Ali Farooqi (Department of History)
Best Costume: Team QDC
Best Production (Play): “Nang” by Quaidian Dramatics Club, QAU.

Moreover Sidra Sarfraz (Department of Plant Sciences), Kashoon Leeza (School of Politics and International Relations), Syeda Abeera Hamid(Department of Pharmacy) and Gohar Ayub Khan(Department of History) were nominated for Best Makeup, Best Supporting Actress and Best Technicals (lights) respectively.

The Incharge QDC, Dr. Sarwat Jahan, and her team have brought many distinctions to the University in the past as well. On this tremendous achievement, the Vice Chancellor Dr. Javed Ashraf congratulated the team QDC.
