ALP-PARC Team Visits Quaid-i-Azam University’s Plant Ecology & Environmental Botany Labs and VC Office
A delegation from the Agriculture Linked Program (ALP) of the Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) recently undertook a visit to Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. The purpose of this visit was to facilitate the transfer and receipt of crucial capital items for the Plant Ecology and Environmental Botany Labs. During their visit, the team also met with Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of QAU, at his office.
The team consisted of esteemed members, including Dr. Shujaul Mulk Khan and Dr. Hassan Javed, who are the principal investigators of the projects from QAU. Accompanying them were Mr. Nauman Khan and Ms. Ya Sakina, Scientific Officers representing the ALP wing of PARC. This collaborative event marked an important occasion.
The projects completed under the ALP-PARC initiative encompassed significant research endeavors. They comprised the following titles: “Identification of Potential Ecological Zones for the Introduction of Suitable Grape Varieties,” “Advancing Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development in the FATA Region of Pakistan,” and “Enhancing Tomato Heat Tolerance through Inoculation with Rhizospheric Bacteria: A Strategic Approach to Mitigate the Impacts of Climate Change.”
During the visit, a range of specialized equipment and valuable capital assets were formally transferred to the aforementioned labs within the Department of Plant Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University.
