5 Days Workshop on Applied Economics Using Software Concludes
A training workshop in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) on applied Economics using software was organized by School of Economics, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU). The training ran for 5 days with participants from 33 different universities.
The purpose of the workshop was to encourage and promote the use of advance software among researchers, students and faculty members besides creating awareness about possible consequences that may alter the nature of analytic process in an unexpected way.
The panel of 6 experts of applied Economics included Prof. Dr. Eatzaz Ahmad, Dr. Muhammad Idrees, Dr. Abdul Jalil, Dr. Wasim Shahid Malik, Dr. Muhammad Jamil and Dr. Anwar Shah delivered lectures to the participants. There were 18 technical sessions during five days on core concepts of Econometrics and use of the software practically. The statistical packages Eviews, RATS, Stata, SPSS and LaTeX were explained to conduct data analysis in research.
