Youth Must Lead Climate Action: Experts Urge at QAU Conference
Quaid-e-Azam University, in collaboration with the Teachers Resource Center (TRC), organized a cluster conference titled “The Immediate Need for Climate Change Education – Youth Engagement for Local and Sustainable Climate Actions.” The conference aimed to address the pressing issue of climate change through public awareness and education.
Speakers highlighted the severe challenge of climate change facing the world, noting that Pakistan is among the affected countries. They emphasized the importance of this conference in the current scenario.
Over 200 participants, including students, faculty, and climate change experts from national and international institutions, attended the event. Notable speakers included Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq Ali, Director ORIC/Academics; Prof. Dr. Sohail Yusuf, Department of Environmental Sciences, Quaid-e-Azam University; Ali Tauqeer Sheikh, Climate Change Expert; Mahak Masood, Environmental and Climate Change Expert; Shabnam Baloch, Country Director, International Rescue Committee; Syeda Yamna Husni, Head of Program Development Unit, Community World Service Asia; Muhammad Rafiq Tahir; and Mehnaz Akbar Aziz.
