The inauguration of Biochemists Association QAU, (BAQI)

The inauguration of Biochemists Association QAU, Islamabad (BAQI) took place on Thursday, 2 June 2011 at Geo Auditorium Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad with mutual efforts of all members’ especially executive body of BAQI under the supervision of advisor Dr.Iram Murtaza. Inaugural guest of honour was Pro.Dr.Masoom Yasin Zai who is the vice chancellor of QAU; Patron in Chief BAQI and eminent Scientist in the field of Molecular biology and Biochemistry. The chairman of Biochemistry department Pro.Dr. S.A Malik chaired the whole session as Patron of BAQI. Other guests were the Registrar of QAU, teachers of Biochemistry department along with dean of biological Sciences, student affair incharge, students and researchers of Biochemistry department. The inauguration started with the recitation of Quran and naat. Then formal inauguration was celebrated by cutting the ribbon and oath taking by Executive body as a symbol to step forward with dedication and to fulfill duties. Presentation about BAQI was prepared by mutual efforts of Bushra kausar and Farah Fatima under the supervision of Executive body and presented by Miss Kinza Makhdoom followed by the speech of Mr. Muhammad Nawaz President of BAQI who shared the vision of BAQI to general body.

Guest of honor Dr. Masoom Yasin Zai gave the memorable speech and appreciated the vision of BAQI and its objectives. He accepted the demand of Conference under the umbrella of BAQI and entitled it as “Quaid-i-Azam Gold Medal Award for Researchers” for which he announced the financial support of one lac (100,000) to be deposited in the account title “BAQI” HBL QAU, Islamabad.
