QAU Faculty Member Selected for Best University Teacher Award by HEC
Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) faculty member Prof. Dr Sohail Nadeem, Department of Mathematics, has been selected for Best Teacher Award by Higher Education Commission (HEC) for the year 2015.
Dr. Sohail Nadeem has completed his Ph.D. in 2004 from Quaid-i-Azam University. He is very outstanding in research. His research areas include Blood flow through stenosed arteries, Peristaltic flows, Computational methods, Numerical Solutions, Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids, Stretching and shrinking phenomena’s, stagnation flows, and analytical techniques to solve highly nonlinear differential equations. The main area of Dr. Nadeem is applied mathematics. He has considered highly nonlinear physical problems of applied nature and obtains their exact, analytical and numerical solutions. He is an expert of number of analytical and numerical techniques. Dr. Sohail Nadeem has published / accepted about 370 research papers in international journals of high impact factor. Most of his research papers have been published in USA, UK, Germany and Netherlands etc. His impact factor is greater than 400 and citations are over 6000, h-index is 41 and I-index is 175. He is recipient of Razi-ud-Din gold medal by Pakistan Academy of Sciences for the year 2008 and regular recipient of productivity award since 2006 (Category A 2011-2013). In 2011, president of Pakistan has awarded him Tamgha-i-Imtiaz and got Salam Prize for the year 2012 from TWAS, Italy. He is also selected as TWAS (Third world Academy of Sciences) young fellow for the years 2011-2016 and member of Pakistan Academy of Sciences. Recently, He received PAS gold medal for the year 2016 from Pakistan Academy of Sciences. He has active research collaboration with professors of leading universities of USA, Canada, Korea, Iran and Germany. In addition to his research work he is very excellent teacher. At present, he is working as Tenured Professor at Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad. He has successfully supervised more than 60 M. Phil students and produced 15 Ph.D’s. Moreover, currently 10 Ph.D. students and 08 M. Phil students are working under his supervision.
