The distinguished guest underlined the profound historical ties that serve as the foundation for the strong friendship between Indonesia and Pakistan. He also highlighted the shared values between the two nations, encompassing multiculturalism, inclusivity, tolerance. The Ambassador also shed light on Indonesia’s significant emphasis on education, exemplified by the allocation of 20% of the annual national budget to this sector. He pointed out the growing trend of Pakistani students choosing Indonesian universities for higher education.
In response the VC appreciated the Indonesian government’s commitment to growth and development and stated that any country’s resolve to create a niche for itself in the future world order can be seen from its investment in education.
There was a discussion on different avenues for mutual cooperation from faculty lectures, exchange, conferences and QAU ‘s partnership in the Indonesian flagship event of Global Town Hall. There was a further commitment to work in building institutional connections. Dr. Salma Malik, Director External Linkages also attended the meeting.
