Celebration of IYC 2011 – Chemistry our life, our future

Department of Chemistry, Quaid-i-Azam University together with Pakistan Academy of Sciences and Chemical Society of Pakistan celebrated International Year of Chemistry IYC 2011 to celebrate chemistry. The motto of year was “Chemistry our life, our future”. Prof Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman (Patron PAS) was the chief guest of the inauguration of the ceremony. He briefly discussed the excitement and wonders of chemistry. During the technical session nine speakers from different organizations discuss the significant role of chemistry in national development and solving global problems regarding renewable energy sources and drug development. Prof. Dr. G. A. Miana (Gen. Secretary PAS) presented vote of thanks. The international of Year Chemistry IYC 2011 was celebrated with a cake having IYC logo.
