Minister of State for Education, Chairman PAC, Chairman HEC endorse decisions and stance of the University to maintain campus discipline
Quaid-i-Azam University extends its sincere gratitude to the Minister of State for Education, Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Chairman, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Junaid Akbar, and Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed for their support and endorsement of the recent measures to uphold campus discipline and academic standards.
Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Acting Vice Chancellor, Quaid-i-Azam University, along with senior administrative officers of the University, held a detailed discussion with the Minister of State for Education, Chairman PAC, and Chairman HEC. The University representatives briefed them on the outcomes and decisions taken in the meeting of Deans, Chairs, and Directors regarding the closure of the university hostels during the summer vacations and apprised them of the University’s stance.
The Minister of State for Education, while stressing her commitment to maintaining academic standards and safeguarding institutional discipline, assured the Ministry’s Full cooperation and support in implementing necessary measures.
Chairman PAC, Mr. Junaid Akbar, commended the University’s resolve to uphold rules and regulations. He expressed his full support for the efforts of the administration to eradicate illegal encroachments on the campus and maintain ethical standards. He supported the University’s stand that hostels should be regulated by the University administration and not by any unauthorized body.
Furthermore, Chairman HEC, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, reaffirmed the University’s principled stand that the summer session should consist of at least 48 hours of teaching to maintain academic standards. Quaid-i-Azam University reaffirms its commitment to providing a secure, disciplined, and academically sound environment for its students and greatly appreciates the continued support and guidance of the national leadership in achieving this mission.
