The theme for the World Soil Day (WSD) celebrations, 2024 "Caring for Soils: Measure, Monitor, & Manage" underscores the importance of accurate soil data and information in understanding soil characteristics and supporting informed decision-making on sustainable soil management for food security.

Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad in collaboration with China Pakistan Joint Research Center (CPJRC) on Earth Science are going to celebrate with a slogan “Right Plant for the Right Place Can Win the Race Against the Climate Change” on 4^th December 2024.

Climate change reshapes every segment of our ecosystem including soil. Developing nations have relatively fewer options and often rely on conventional approaches to combat climatic changes. In such circumstances, plants could be used as indicators, remediators, and solution managers for better soil in the face of pollution and population explosions. Let's celebrate the day and work to preserve healthy soil for our future living beings including human beings.

This year China Pakistan Joint Research Center (CPJRC) on Earth Sciences, Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), Department of Plant Sciences, Directorate of Career Counseling (DCC), Green Youth Movement (GYM), and Plant Ecology and Conservation Lab.  day at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan, on 4^th December 2024. The event includes speeches from well-known international & national speakers related to soil and its role in the ecosystem in general and human lives in particular. Additionally, posters competition and awareness walk will also be part of this event.
