Executive Panther of MBA Department won 4th Vice Chancellor Trophy Tape Ball Cricket Tournament

Extra curricular activities play a vital role in developing students mind as well as physical fitness, said Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, vice chancellor of Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) here on Saturday.

Addressing a prize distribution ceremony of 4th Vice Chancellor Cricket Tournament he said sports can be a powerful tool to combat extremism that is why new and high quality sports facilities would be introduced in the university.

He said the university has been trying to promote sports activities and organizing this event is part of series of programmes that would be started in the coming months.

The Executive Panther of MBA Department won the final mach by eight wickets from ECO Stars of Economics Department in the tournament in which a total of 56 teams from different departments tried to get top positions.

The Vice Chancellor distributed winning trophies and cash prizes among the winners and runners-up. The top three teams received cash prizes worth Rs.20,000, Rs.10,000, and Rs.5,000 respectively along with individual prizes.

Before the prize distribution ceremony a mach was also played between Vice Chancellors Eleven and Registrar Eleven comprising employees of the university that was won by former by seven wickets.

The Vice Chancellor’s team comprised , Prof. Dr. M. Masoom Yasinzai (captain), Dr. Asif Ali, Dr. Zawar Hussain, Dr. Muhammad Riaz, Amanat Ali, Dr. Hassan, Dr. Aqeel, Mr. Imran, Shahid, Aamer, Salman Haider.

While the Registrar’s team consisted of Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman (captain), Mr. Ahmed Raza Chohan, Waqar Ismail, Muhammad Atif, Ali Khan, Arslan Shahzad, Umar Malik, Sami Ullah, Rana Humayun, Anzar Satti, Amjad Rafiq, Mirza Amer.
