Dr. Kashif Bashir’s research aims to isolate the pharmacologically bioactive compounds specifically from plants and other natural products using cutting-edge chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques to develop new drug molecules. His research work involves exploring the biological activity of medicinal plants and bioassay-guided isolation. He has also gained expertise in the area of tandem mass spectrometry-based metabolomics and chemical profiling of medicinal plants using advanced LC-MS/MS and GNPS molecular networking techniques. With the focus of natural product chemistry and biological activity, he is dedicated to working in the areas of enzyme inhibition studies, diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular, and wound healing, etc, to find new plants and new molecules which may be used in the treatment of these diseases and can be formulated as marketed products. |
